This innovative producer attaches great importance to sustainability and delivery reliability. Lan Handling’s solutions were preferred when automating multiple packaging lines.
The challenge? The fully automated loading and palletising of various crates and boxes on a small floor space, with sufficient access positions for forklift trucks.
| Location | The Netherlands, Tilburg |
| USP | Standard (but very flexible) robot cells |
| Diversity | Full and half-sized folding crates, boxes, two pallet types |
With these packing lines, bags of potatoes, carrots and onions in nets can be automatically loaded into crates and boxes. How it works?
Stacks of boxes and folding crates are simply fed into the crate erector from a pallet. Both the full-sized (600×400 mm) and half-sized (400×300 mm) crates are automatically unfolded, checked for possible defects, and continue on their way to the robot cell. Defective crates are automatically discharged from the system.
In the robot cell, the products are loaded into folding crates and boxes at high speed and with various packing patterns. At the output of the robot cell towards the palletiser, we have added weighers. This way, only crates and boxes with the correct contents are transported to the palletising robot.
After that, palletising takes place on Euro and Chep pallets, including fully automated strapping. Pallets that are ready for transport can be easily picked-up with a forklift from easily accessible positions.
Among other things, by various innovations in packaging and the construction and installation of a unique carrot line. Automation, robotization and an even more environmentally conscious production will continue to be central to Jansen-Dongen in the coming years. Lan Handling Technologies is proud to be a part of this!
