A completely new factory has been built in Lithuania to stimulate sales of the Optimeal and Club4Paws brands. This location should facilitate exports to Scandinavia, some European countries and Latin America. For this project, we supplied a pouch handling system with 3 loaders, 2 unloaders with integrated in-line dryers that efficiently extract the residual water that remains on the pouches after the sterilisation process.
The capacity of this machine line is up to 10 layers per minute! We form a pattern on the supply belt and push an entire layer towards the empty basket. One by one the layers lower into the basket until it is full and moves on a shuttle towards the retort. In this project, the layer pads are designed without blind spots, for the best possible heat process in the retort. The entire system is also equipped with multi-coders on the baskets, so that food safety can be guaranteed. Finally, the de-water units ensure that the cans are dry enough to be packaged immediately afterwards.
By integrating an easily exchangeable pattern former, switching to a different product format can be fixed within a minute. Moving on! A fully automatic solution including a shuttle for loading and unloading the 1600mm retorts, ensures that up to 700 cans per minute can be handled. This robust handling system is also equipped with turn tables for an optimal product flow and de-water units to enable the direct packaging of cans.
A state-of-the-art can handling system was delivered to run this new product, aluminum cans with energy coffee with a capacity of 833 cans/minute. Including a basket loader, a basket unloader, a single shuttle interfacing 1700 mm retorts, basket and layer pad handling. The lifts in the loading and unloading area are equipped without hydrolics, making them more energy efficient and making less noise.
