Your day as Warehouse employee?

A good start to your morning, a shipment of parts for a can line that’s under construction arrives early. You jump right out from behind the counter to manage the logistics process.

This starts with checking that the goods are complete and undamaged. Check! Time to register everything in the ERP system so that the entire organization is up to date on the delivery. Also done? Then you and your colleagues in the logistics department make sure that everything arrives at the correct spot in the organization. Already time for coffee? Wow, that went by fast! Just a moment to catch up with your colleagues in the sun outside or in the canteen.

The next item on your to-do list is to collect the pick lists, this way, you make sure that your colleagues always have the right parts at hand. You noticed in the system that the M6 nuts are starting to run out, so you order some more when you are done. A good idea for improving the ordering process comes to mind, you will discuss it with the team at the next department meeting!

After a lunch break with a walk in the sun, the agenda includes preparing a recently tested machine for shipment. You decide how best to pack and transport it so that it arrives at the customer’s door in perfect condition. You put some separate parts together on a pallet yourself. The truck just arrived, time to load up. There is your colleague with the forklift. A good end to a dynamic day!
