Kevin - Electrician

Tells about his job at Lan Handling Technologies

I learn a lot from the work "on site", where I have personal contact with our customers

How I keep developing:
By being proactive and taking responsibilities. That brings me new insights and opportunities! As an electrician you may also have to work at a customer abroad to build the line there. For example, I recently spent a few days in the Czech Republic and am going to America in two weeks. That is great, of course! I learn a lot from the work “on site”, where I often have personal contact with our customers. Making and fulfilling agreements and deadlines; that’s how we do!

My advice to new colleagues:
If you choose Lan, you choose adventure. Be (pro) active. We have a nice, young team with good guidance. You can learn enough at Lan!

My day in a nutshell:
One thing is certain: I don’t have time for an easy start in the morning. There is action right away! At Lan we make handling systems for different product types with different speeds. As a result, projects often have different specifications and different electrical components. That makes it interesting and varied for me as an electrician. Together with my (mechanical and software) colleagues, I first build a new project in our own production hall. I take care of the wiring, connection of instrumentation and control boxes. A project can sometimes take weeks. But if we finally see it running well; that’s satisfying!

What drives me at Lan:
Every day is an adventure for me, not knowing what that day will bring. It is precisely because of this variety, and the opportunities that you get as a young mechanic, that I can grow in my work.
