Software Project Engineer (Halfweg)

Also known as: the last man standing

What does your day look like?

While drinking your first cup of coffee, you hear your colleagues discussing a new project.

A potato processor wants to fill his crates as efficiently as possible, and thereby increase the capacity and effectiveness of his packaging line. That means work to do, for you as a Software Project Engineer.

You are responsible for all software and control related issues during the design, engineering, assembly, testing and commissioning phase of this project. Like writing software for machine control, control panels, robot controls, servo and safety systems. A baseline meeting is planned in the morning. You determine which parts you will design for this project and which you will get from the software library. Afterwards, you start with your project planning and your plan of action for improving the first and second line of support for software issues.

So late already? You pack your suitcase because you have to catch your flight. The next two weeks will see you abroad delivering a machine. You relieve your colleagues. As a Software Project Engineer, you are often the last link in the process: you ensure that the machine runs perfectly before you go home.

How you get things moving:

MBO or HBO study

Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.

Knowledge of

one or more PLC systems, such as Siemens, Allen Bradley or B&R.

Team player

with a ‘can do’ mindset.

in both Dutch and English.
