Purchasing Support Planner

Also known as: technical teamplayer

What does your day look like as a Purchasing Support Planner?

Financial/Business Controller

First a cup of coffee. And then get to work!

This morning you will find the latest specifications and guidelines for a number of machine parts in a large pet food production line in your mailbox. This deserves extra attention. Now that you have everything complete, you can request the right quotes from our suppliers.

Yes, those requests have been sent. Time to walk past your Engineering colleagues. You have been asked to request a number of quotes for the latest version of our in-line dryers, but after checking the drawings and parts lists, you still have a number of questions. After consultation, you can make a few minor changes, so you can be sure that the order complies with the purchasing principles.

After the lunch break you have a meeting with the Operational Buyer. You regularly assess the quality of our external suppliers together. Your analysis of the past few weeks has revealed a number of bottlenecks that you would like to solve. The offers of a supplier are not always technically in order. You have made some improvements. You schedule an appointment for next week to discuss this.

Ping! Just before you go home, you see that the quotes you requested this morning have arrived. Those look good. You give positive advice to the buyers, so that they can place the order. This is on schedule!
